Homicide is Illegal and Death is the Penalty.

Today my state, New Jersey is the first state to abolish the Death Penalty, since it was reinstated in 1976. I agree with this decision, using the Death penalty as a deterrent to violent crime as is often the justification used to defend the Death penalty is false. Murders are still committed in Death penalty states and even in record numbers in some states. I have always thought of the punishment as not only barbaric but very hypocritical. How can we say that a crime that so horrible as premeditated murder, a crime that brings out the absolute worst in a human being. and condemn it to the highest extent, but then turn abound and to the same thing? Just because its sanctioned by the state doesn't make it right. Now I haven't had any of my family or friends murdered so. I can't put myself in the shoes of a someone who have been through that kind of experience. All I know if I had the unfortunate chance to go thought that one of the first things in terms of revenge would be to kill the murderer, and have him or her dead. But I don't think we can can do that and still continue to claim our virtuosity in this country.

The Death penalty represents the ugliness in the human soul, and the vigilante spirit that we are told to rail against. Just because a person( s) took it into their own hands to decide when another person dies doesn't mean the we should. However I do believe that this should have been up for vote and left to the residents of New Jersey to decide to get rid of the Death penalty or not. Maybe it's better that we didn't get a vote as various polls are indicating that the State of New Jersey would still have the Death penalty if it came to a vote. Oh well what can you do, everyone doesn't think the same way as you.

I'm Shooting, Awe Made You Look!!!

In the Houston area of Texas, a home owner, 61 year old Joe Horn saw two burglars come outside of a neighbor after a robbery. Horn called the police about the robbery, while on the phone, the two burglars made their way onto Horn’s property. At this point Horn with shoot gun in hand made it known to the dispatcher that was making his way out onto his porch and was going to shoot the two men. The dispatcher continually tried to talk Horn down and tell him to put his gun down and wait until the Police arrived to his home. Horn ignored the dispatcher advice even at one point cocking his gun asking the dispatcher if he heard it. Horn came out to his porch and came within 10 feet of the burglars some reports say . At this point the burglars fled from Horn and were shot in the back. One man was shot twice while the other only once. Both men are dead. This sparked protest in the Houston and racial divide, wait did I say racial divide. Okay will let me explain, the two men who shot, Diego Ortiz and Hernando Torres are Latinos, but also noticeably Black Latinos, which is the most logical reason why the comical New Black Panther Party are involved in some of the protests. The protesters are saying that this Horn needs to be prosecuted, while his supporters are calling him a hero. Now another element is adding into this equation ( which makes Lou Dobbs’ penis rock hard), Ortiz and Torres are illegal immigrants from Columbia. Its funny how the term changes from undocumented workers to illegal immigrants when person(s) in question is involved in wrong doing, and I’m not just calling them illegal just to say it, that’s what every news outlet have called the two. So the question at the core of this situation is whether it’s self defense or is it murder. My take is that what Joe Horn did was murder and I’ll tell you why.

I’m not a lawyer nor do I have a criminal justice degree, but I think that when the two burglars fled from Mr. Horn that’s when it stopped being self defense. I don’t see how when you shoot someone in the back without physical contact is self defense. I understand the fear that might’ve gripped Mr. Horn, seeing the guys who just robbed your neighbors house coming to do the same to yours. He must have been terrified and his first reaction was to protect himself, that’s understandable and should be taken into account when /if Horn is prosecuted, even though it turns out that the two men were not armed. Even after saying all that I still maintain that this is murder. However I do not think that Mr. Horn should get a harsh sentence maybe probation would be good, but considering the area’s apparent discord, Horn needs to be prosecuted. It should be worth noting that technically what Horn did , may not illegal under Texas law, which says that you can use deadly force to protect your property or the property of a neighbor. On second thought it was clearly heard on the tape Horn saying “I’m going to kill them” so the was intent there, throw the book at this bitch

And in movie news, “Alvin and the Chipmunks “ movie will be opening this week Friday, December 14^th . You know I never understood how a world renowned music group of singing and instrument playing rodents could always be in danger of losing their home, and how they could inter act with human children or even speak English, or speak for that matter!!! Ah well after all it’s a cartoon, a cartoon that anyone around my age knows the words to the theme song and I did have a talking Alvin doll as a child, and I did name my first pet, a Parakeet, Alvin after the cartoon chipmunk. Now that I think about it. Alvin was the ‘stud” of the group, I wonder how much tail he got on tour. Ah questions about fictional cartoon character deserves fictional cartoon answers. So let me say this to all of those who may be wondering, NO I WILL NOT SEEING THIS FUCKING MOVIE!!!!

The O Factor

Few celebrities can go by first name only. Some that come to mind are Tom ( Cruise), Will ( Smith) and Jack( Nicholson), ( and don't say I forgot Maddona because that's not her real name) and then there's Oprah. Sure maybe when you refer to actors named Tom, Will, or Jack some people may not link last names to the first right away, but when you say Oprah everyone knows exactly who you are talking about, talk show host Oprah Winfrey. The most famous woman in the United States, and maybe the world. Now she has thrown her public support to presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Oprah and Obama campaigned together in Iowa, and South Carolina, where they had to move the event to a college football stadium. So just how much influence can Oprah have over the Obama campaign? Well this is the woman who was sued and took the heat for a falling meat industry in the mid 1990's because she said on her show that she would never eat another hamburger. She's the same woman that when she picks a book for her book club it instantly becomes a best seller, and she's directly responsible for launching the television careers for Dr. Phil and Rachael Ray ( not so much for Ray, but Oprah was instrumental in getting Ray on network television, her production company also produces the show) . So just about everything she touches becomes gold, but the question is how much can she really help Obama? Well when you take into account that the majority of Oprah's audience are women, with most of them being middle- aged women, this could spell trouble for Hilliary Clinton, as Oprah's audience ( or target audience) makes up a large portion of her supporters. Its already a dead heat in Iowa and now in South Carolina between Obama and Clinton, and Oprah may be just what Obama needs to put him over the top. So the for Obama the "O" effect just might work.

Late breaking news.... Micheal Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison. ... 23 months Damn dawg!!!

And after 6 Grammy nominations, the first photos of Amy Winehouse was that of her in London at night, bear foot, in her bra, crying and running through the streets. Amy seriously I think it is time for you to go to rehab. You're a talented woman, but if you're going with that Hendrix legends ticket, its not going to work. You're just going to be remembered as that girl that O.D.ed, oh what's her name??? Clean yourself up and make a career for yourself, if not then just die already!!!

After Whoppi Goldberg brought up the subject of ancient religions, Ms. Shepherd, the same woman who couldn't come to a conclusion to if the world was flat or not, claimed that there were no religions before Christianity and that there was nothing before Jesus. Sherri, Sherri , Sherri, are you a High School drop out? Not saying that drop outs are automatically dumb, Peter Jennings turned out to be an intelligent man, but Sherri you are a rare breed aren't you? And for your uniqueness you are more than deserving for this award. No religions before Christianity? Really Sherri Shepherd? What a Dumb Ass!!!!
